Itinerary
Day 1 Spain – Santiago de Chile
Departure by scheduled flight to Santiago de Chile. Overnight on board.
Day 2 Santiago de Chile
Arrival in Santiago. Reception and transfer to the hotel.
In the afternoon, we will take a guided tour of the city. We will visit the civic center of the city, where we will observe the buildings dating from the last century, including the Presidential Palace. Afterwards, we will visit the neighborhood that sheltered the oligarchy at the beginning of the century, where the Club Hípico and the Cousiño Palace stand out. We will continue crossing the Mapocho River, and we will ascend the San Cristobal Hill to enjoy a panoramic view of Santiago. Afterwards, we will visit the residential sector that extends to the foot of the mountain range, where we will visit neighborhoods with beautiful houses, parks and gardens.
Return to the hotel.

Day 3 Santiago – Arica
Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Arica, in the northernmost region of Chile. Upon arrival we will transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon we will visit the Azapa Valley.

Day 4 Arica. Lauca National Park and Chungará Lake (4,200 m).
Full day visit to Lauca National Park and Lake Chungará. The National Park with its humid lands is a paradise with a variety of birds.
We will be able to enjoy flamingos, llamas, vizcachas and guanacos.
Lake Chungará, world biosphere reserve and located at 4,200 m altitude is the highest in the world. There, we will enjoy a spectacular view of the Payachatas, the Pomerape and Parinacota volcanoes of more than 6,000 m of altitude reflected in the waters of the lake. We will visit the picturesque village of Parinacota, whose church has been declared a national monument.
Return to Arica and overnight.
Day 5 Arica – San Pedro de Atacama
Free morning to explore the historic center of the city, enjoy the beach (from November to March) or visit the historic hill of Arica.
At sunset we will take a night bus southbound to the Atacama Desert.
Night on board.
Day 6 San Pedro de Atacama. Moon Valley
Upon arrival in San Pedro de Atacama, reception and transfer to the hotel.
In the afternoon we will visit the Valley of the Dinosaurs, the Kari Viewpoint and the Valley of Death, also known as the Valley of Mars, a mountainous and sandy valley very close to San Pedro, located in the Cordillera de la Sal (Salt Mountain Range). We will finish in the Valley of the Moon, an immense depression, totally desert-like, with strange geological formations where we will find attractions such as Las Tres Marías or Las Cavernas de Sal. We will end the day witnessing an incredible sunset.

Day 7 San Pedro de Atacama. Archaeological Tour, Atacama Salt Flat and Toconao.
In the morning we will go into the mountain sector, passing through Ayllu de Coyo, a typical Atacameño agricultural town. Afterwards, we will visit the village of Tulor, where it is possible to visit the oldest settlement of the Atacameño culture, more than 2000 years old; the Pukará de Quitor, dating from the 12th century and Toconao, a colonial village built entirely with liparite stones of volcanic origin. We will continue to the Salar de Atacama, which occupies an extension of 100 kilometers long and 80 kilometers wide, being the third largest in the world and then visit the Chaxa lagoon, a lagoon with surface salt and whose margins there are varieties of flora adapted to the desert climate.
Return to San Pedro. Lodging.
Day 8 San Pedro de Atacama. Tatio and Machuca Geysers.
Departure from the hotel early in the morning (4am) to start the excursion. We will visit the Tatio Geysers located at 4,321 meters above sea level, a geothermal center that has its origin in the Tatio Volcano, fumaroles that can only be observed very early in the morning. After seeing this beautiful spectacle, in a majestic natural environment, we will have breakfast. We will enjoy panoramic views of the majestic Andes Mountains whose peaks will seem at our fingertips. En route we will stop in Machuca, a small settlement of llama herders. The village is adorned with 20 houses and a church of adobe and thatched roofs. It is over 4,000 m above sea level. Return to San Pedro. Lodging.
Day 9 San Pedro de Atacama – Calama – Santiago
Free time until transfer to Calama airport (regular service) to take the flight back to Santiago. Arrival and transfer to the hotel.

Day 10 Santiago. Excursion to Viña del Mar, Valparaíso and Isla Negra.
Today we will take a full day excursion to visit Viña del Mar, Valparaíso and Isla Negra. On the way we will appreciate the diversity of landscapes and vegetation that show the agricultural valleys of Curacaví and Casa Blanca.
Isla Negra is a seaside resort surrounded by pine and eucalyptus forests where one of the house-museums of the poet Pablo Neruda, Nobel Prize for literature in 1971, is located, which we can visit (entrance fee not included; closed on Mondays). We will continue to Valparaiso to observe the spectacle offered by the variety of colorful houses attached to the hills. We will continue along the coast to enjoy Viña del Mar, also called the Garden City, for its impressive parks, promenades and beautiful buildings. We will visit its beaches, including Reñaca, the main beach resort of the country with prestigious restaurants and modern buildings.
Return to Santiago in the afternoon. Lodging.
Day 11 Santiago de Chile – Puerto Montt – Puerto Varas
Transfer to the airport to fly to Puerto Montt.
Upon arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel in the neighboring city of Puerto Varas.
In the afternoon we will visit Puerto Varas, considered the tourist center of southern Chile and characterized by its attractive meadows and rose gardens. We will walk along the Costanera Avenue, visit the craft fair and the church.
Afterwards, we will visit Puerto Montt, capital of the Lakes Region. We will take a walk to visit the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the San Francisco de Sales Chapel, the Caleta de Angelmó and the market.
Return to the hotel and overnight.
Day 12 Puerto Varas. Excursion to Chiloé Island and Ancud.
In the morning we will leave for Chiloé Island, land of fishermen and sailors.
To access it we will cross the Chacao Channel.
Ancud is the gateway to the magical Isla Grande. Founded by Carlos Berenger as a fortress and port in 1767, we will visit the Fort of San Antonio, a historical site located in the upper part of the city, the Local Museum, the Plaza de Armas and its Municipal Market, which offers a variety of gastronomic options. We will have time for lunch before returning to Puerto Varas.

Day 13 Puerto Varas. Excursion Petrohué and Todos los Santos Lake.
Today we will depart for Petrohué, bordering Lake Llanquihue accompanied by the imposing views of the Osorno and Calbuco Volcanoes dominating the landscape.
Once in the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park we will be amazed by the Petrohué Falls, whimsical volcanic rock forms, bathed by emerald green waterfalls.
After enjoying some free time, we will set sail to the ecological village of Peulla, navigating the Todos los Santos Lake.
We will have time for lunch before returning to Puerto Varas.

Day 14 Puerto Varas. Visit to Frutillar
We will begin our excursion to Frutillar visiting first the famous city of Llanquihue, where we will visit the Monument of the German settlers. Bordering the Llanquihue Lake we will arrive at Frutillar, a beautiful town reminiscent of Bavaria, where the first settlers came from. We will stroll around its beautiful old German-style houses, admiring its manicured gardens and its incomparable view of the Osorno and Puntiagudo Volcanoes. Optionally we can visit the German Colonial Museum (entrance fee not included).
Return to Puerto Varas. Lodging.
Day 15 Puerto Varas – Puerto Montt – Puerto Natales
We will transfer to Puerto Montt airport to take our flight to Puerto Natales, gateway to southern Patagonia. Reception and transfer to the hotel.

Day 16 Puerto Natales. Excursion to Torres del Paine and Milodon Cave.
In the morning we will go to the imposing Milodon Cave (Natural Monument) and later to Torres del Paine National Park, with beautiful views of its mountains and lakes such as Sarmiento, Nordenskjold and Pehoe.
Once there, we will walk to Salto Grande, Grey Lake and its beach, where we can admire a large number of ice floes that fall from the glacier.
Accommodation in the park and half board.
Day 17 Torres del Paine
Today we will have the day free to enjoy the park or take optional excursions such as sailing the Grey Lake and approaching its glacier, or hiking to the base of the famous Torres del Paine.
In the afternoon, we will return to Puerto Natales.

Day 18 Puerto Natales. Navigation Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers.
Today we will sail to visit the Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers. During the trip we will be able to observe colonies of sea lions, cormorants, waterfalls and abundant native forest. Once in the park we will admire the Balmaceda Glacier, which is in continuous retreat. Afterwards we will dock at the Puerto Toro dock from where we will begin a short hike to the Serrano Glacier. After lunch (included) at Estancia Perales we will return to Puerto Natales.

Day 19 Puerto Natales – Santiago
In the morning, transfer to Puerto Natales airport to take the regular flight to Santiago. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel.

Day 20 Santiago de Chile – Spain
Free time until transfer to the airport to take the flight back to Spain. Overnight on board.

Situation
South America. Chile is bordered to the north by Peru, to the east by Bolivia and Argentina. To the west it is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean.
Recommended time of year
Although you can visit all year round, the best time is from September to April, mostly because of Patagonia.
The north in particular sees its best season between May and September. The south from October to April. Keep in mind that being in the southern hemisphere the seasons are reversed with respect to Spain.
Weather
In the north the climate is mild all year round, with more than 90% of days of sunshine. In winter (June, July and August) the average daytime temperature ranges from 9º C to 24º C. Between January and March, the so-called altiplanic winter brings occasional rains. Between January and March, the so-called altiplanic winter brings occasional rains.
The south of Chile has lower temperatures, with a rainy winter in northern Patagonia and an arid and dry winter in southern Patagonia. In addition, the climate in this region is quite unstable.
