This continent, the cradle of civilisations, has one of the greatest diversities in terms of landscapes, fauna and ethnic groups.

Straddling the equator, Africa stretches some eight thousand kilometres in length, alternating between vast deserts, breathtaking canyons, lush forests and voluptuous waterfalls.
