Itinerary

Day 1 Madrid – San Francisco (USA)

Departure by scheduled flight to San Francisco. Arrival and transfer to our hotel in downtown San Francisco. Lodging.

Day 2 San Francisco

Day to explore the charming city of San Francisco. We recommend a visit to the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, the financial center of the city, Lombard Street (the most curvy street in the world!), Chinatown and Japantown. You can also take an optional visit to Alcatraz Island (reservation required) and learn about the fascinating history of the most famous prison in the world. Accommodation.

Day 3 San Francisco – Yosemite National Park (320 km)

Pick up the rental car in downtown San Francisco and departure to Yosemite. We will drive through the fertile lands of the San Joaquin Valley to the famous American park where, after about 3 hours of driving, we will enjoy the views of impressive granite towers, a multitude of waterfalls and the great sequoias. In addition, we will be able to see climbers from all over the world tackling “the Great Captain”, one of the most famous rock walls in the world. We recommend you to visit the park doing one of the many possible treks. Lodging.

Day 4 Yosemite National Park

Today we will have more time to discover the most beautiful spots in the park. We will enjoy the views from Glacier Point and marvel at the giant sequoias. In addition, we will be able to walk some of the short marked trails. Lodging.

Day 5 Yosemite National Park – Death Valley (330 Km)

In the morning we will enjoy Tuolumne Meadows, a totally different area of the park. It is a huge and beautiful meadow ideal for getting lost. In the Tuolumne River we can swim, fish or relax with the scenery. Afterwards, we will continue our trip to Death Valley, a national park that spans the states of Nevada and California. It is a very arid area and contains some of the largest desert terrain in the continental United States. Death Valley is also one of the hottest places in North America. Lodging.

Day 6 Death Valley – Grand Canyon (Flagstaff) (600 km)

We will drive from Death Valley through the desert to our hotel near Grand Canyon NP. With almost 600 km it will be one of the longest stages of the trip but will allow us to admire beautiful scenery throughout the journey. We recommend driving along the historic Route 66. Lodging.

Day 7 Grand Canyon – Lake Powell (220 Km)

In the morning, we recommend a visit to the unmissable Grand Canyon National Park. We highly recommend hiking trails and a helicopter flight over the canyon (optional) to discover this area of immense beauty from a bird’s eye view. Afterwards, we will drive to Lake Powell where we will spend the night. Lodging.

Day 8 Lake Powell – Antelope Canyon and Monument Valley – Moab (400 km)

We will drive to Antelope Canyon, a small but beautiful geographic formation in northern Arizona that belongs to the Navajo Indians. It will take us an hour or two to drive through it all, but it is truly worth it. Afterwards, we will continue our way to Monument Valley, where we will find one of the most unforgettable images of the American West: isolated plateaus and red hills surrounded by an empty, sandy desert have been filmed and photographed countless times over the years. The Monument Valley area and the Navajo Reservation provide excellent opportunities to admire Native American culture and learn about the Navajo people. We will be able to observe how some Navajo artisans make their items and purchase handmade items. Afterwards, we will drive to Moab, the gateway to visit Arches National Park and nearby Canyonlands National Parks. Lodging in Moab.

Day 9 Moab

Free day to live the adventure around Moab! The possibilities are many: mountain biking on the famous Slickrock Trail, off-road tours (the annual Moab Jeep Safari tournament is held there), or a guided tour in the middle of the amazing desert. We highly recommend a sunset trek to Delicate Arch for splendid views, or see Mesa Arch in Canyonlands at sunrise. Lodging.

Day 10 Moab – Colorado River

Today we will experience the highlight of our trip. We will start an exciting rafting trip on the Colorado River (class 2-3), accompanied by expert guides who will provide us with the necessary equipment. We will be able to observe from another perspective the impressive rocky cliffs of red tones, so characteristic of the area, and the beautiful needles of the Fisher Towers. We will spend the night in tents on the banks of the river under the stars.

Day 11 Colorado River – Moab

We will continue our adventure rafting down the Colorado River. Accompanied by beautiful landscapes. After rafting, we will return to Moab. Lodging.

Day 12 Moab – Bryce Canyon (450 km)

Today we will drive to the enchanting Bryce Canyon National Park, where we will marvel at the red rock spires and spectacular scenery. Lodging.

Day 13 Bryce Canyon

Full day to explore and tour this park, it is breathtaking! The colors of the canyon at sunset create an unforgettable postcard. With some luck you can also see real cowboys with their herd.
We recommend the Navajo Loop hike and horseback riding.
Lodging.

Day 14 Bryce Canyon – Zion National Park (130 km)

We will drive to Zion National Park. This park is huge, so it is convenient to choose beforehand the activities to do. There are many options: mountain biking, kayaking, rappelling, hummer or ATV tours. A must is to climb to the top of Angel’s Landing. Lodging.

Day 15 Zion National Park – Las Vegas (260 km)

Early in the morning we will head for Las Vegas. Once we arrive, we will have the afternoon free to rest and tour this peculiar city. At sunset the lights will make the most splendorous Las Vegas appear and we will understand why it is called “the city that never sleeps”. We recommend you to visit and try your luck in the numerous casinos. Accommodation.
