Our trip starts in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, from where we will travel to Pangkalan Bun. Here we will have the opportunity to visit the Tanjung Puting National Park, recognized for the great work they do with the conservation and rehabilitation of orangutans. They share habitat with gibbons, probistide monkeys, macaques, crocodiles and a great variety of endemic birds. Indonesia stands out for the great diversity of its rich ecosystem, a real gift for our senses.

During our adventure we will navigate the Sekonyer River, visit the largest Hindu temples in the country and the largest Buddhist monument in the world, the Borobudur Temple. In addition, we will see the Merapi volcano where we will be able to observe the marks left by the hot lava from the crater.

The last few days will be spent exploring and enjoying the island of Lombok and its beautiful beaches. Time to relax, enjoy the environment and do all kinds of activities.

Itinerary

Day 1 Spain – Jakarta

Departure by scheduled flight to Jakarta. Overnight on board.

Day 2 Jakarta

Arrival at Jakarta airport. Transfer to the hotel.
Accommodation.

Day 3 Jakarta – Pangkalan Bun (Tanjung Puting National Park)

Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Pangkalan Bun. Arrival in Pangkalan Bun and transfer by car to Kumai from where we will go by boat up the Sekonyer River visiting Tanjung Harapan, near the orangutan rehabilitation center. Dinner and overnight on board the boat.

Day 4 Pangkalan Bun (Tanjung Puting National Park)

Today we will sail in our Klotok boat (traditional boat type) on the Sekonyer River, from where we will have the opportunity to see the great diversity of this rich ecosystem located in the south of the island of Borneo. We will visit the two orangutan rehabilitation centers located within the National Park coinciding with the time when the orangutans are provided with their daily food. These orangutans share habitat with gibbons, probistide monkeys, macaques, crocodiles and a variety of endemic birds.
Accommodation by boat.

Day 5 Pangkalan Bun – Semarang – Yogyakarta

After breakfast, return to Pangkalan Bun by descending the Sekonyer River. Transfer to the airport and flight to Semarang. Arrival and transfer to Yogyakarta (3 hours).

Day 6 Yogyakarta – Prambanan – Yogyakarta

Breakfast. Today we will visit Prambanan Temple to see the largest Hindu temple in the country.
In the afternoon we will explore by jeep Kaliadem, a strategic place to see the Merapi volcano, where we will see the marks left by the hot lava from the crater.
Accommodation.

Day 7 Yogyakarta

Breakfast. This morning will be spent visiting the city: the Sultan’s Palace and Borobudur Temple, the largest Buddhist monument in the world. We will also visit the adjoining temples of Mendut and Pawon.
We will then transfer to our hotel near the temple. In the afternoon we will have free time to relax and enjoy our hotel.

Day 8 Yogyakarta – Lombok

After breakfast, transfer to the airport to fly to Lombok. Arrival, reception by our driver and transfer to our hotel located in the beach area.

Days 9, 10 and 11 Lombok

Free days to enjoy the beach of Senggigi. In addition, we can do all kinds of activities and excursions 100% recommended.
A tour of Lombok is the best way to get to know the island and get a first impression of its culture, traditions, villages and typical markets.
It is also advisable to make an excursion to the traditional Sasak villages, we will come into contact with them and learn about their way of life. To finish, we will go to Kuta and Tanjung A’an, where we will be able to relax in its beaches of white sand and crystalline water.
The excursion to the waterfalls of Lombok is another of the visits that you cannot lose you. Here we will enjoy magnificent landscapes with nature as the protagonist of the adventure.
It is also possible to make an excursion to Gili Trawangan, one of the islands that make up the Gili archipelago. Here we will be able to snorkel, swim in its crystal clear waters and enjoy its rich gastronomic offer.

Day 12 Lombok – Spain

Breakfast and transfer by car to the international airport of Lombok, where we will take our flight back to Spain.
Overnight on board.

Practical information

Situation

Archipelago between two oceans, the Pacific and the Indian Ocean. It has land borders with Malaysia (on the island of Borneo) and Papua New Guinea and maritime borders with Australia, the Philippines and Malaysia.

Recommended time of year

May to October, as humidity is lower and rainfall is light and infrequent.

Weather

Tropical, hot and humid all year round. Average temperature 26º. There is a dry season (May-October) and a rainy season (November to April).
